English:
The rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that results when the sun shines on the rain drops under specific conditions (refraction), thus giving very beautiful aesthetic effects (multicolored arcs).
There is a sequence of well-defined colors, from red (outside the arc) to violet (the inside of the arc).
The sequence of colors can be saved by the mnemonic:
"Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain"
(Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)

O arco-íris é um fenómeno óptico e meteorológico que resulta quando o sol brilha sobre gotas da chuva em condições específicas (refracção), proporcionando efeitos estéticos muito lindos (arcos multicoloridos).
Existe uma sequência de cores bem definida, do vermelho (parte exterior do arco) ao violeta (parte interior do arco).
A sequência de cores pode ser memorizada pela mnemónica:
“ «Vermelho lá vai violeta», em que l,a,v,a,i representam a sequência laranja, amarelo, verde, azul, índigo. “

Rules:
The photos/images must be from the student / teacher who participates in the project (publishes the photos);

Conditions the image/photo must follow:
- Maximum photo resolution (recommended) – 1024x768px;
- Maximum file size – 200KB.

The elements (information and images) published will be the public’s domain.

The published information (articles, comments) must be credible and correctly written in English and it’s the responsibility of the student and the teacher in charge.

Final result:
Each class will publish one article about the location, region or topic chosen, which will act as post/article (written in English and in the mother tongue), introducing people to an idea (this article may have an image or not). After this initial article, other posts related to the topic will follow. The publication of articles/posts must be scheduled as to allow a fairly active blog use. Each post (except for the introductory one) should obey the following structure:

Regulamento:
As fotografias/ imagens têm de ser de autoria do aluno/professor que publica (participa) no projecto.

Requisitos que a imagem deverá cumprir:
- Dimensões máximas (aconselháveis): 1024x768 px;
- Tamanho máximo: 200 KB.
Os elementos (informação e imagens) publicados passarão a ser de domínio público.
A informação publicada (artigos/comentários) deve ser fidedigna e correctamente redigida no idioma inglês e é da responsabilidade do aluno e do professor que o orienta.

Resultado final:
Cada turma deverá publicar um artigo sobre a Localização/Região ou motivo escolhido que funcionará como post/artigo (escrito em inglês e na língua materna) de introdução ao tema (este artigo poderá ter ou não imagem). A seguir a esse artigo virá uma série de post’s associados a esse tema. A publicação dos artigos/post’s deverá ser devidamente calendarizada de forma a proporcionar uma actividade relativamente uniforme do blogue ao longo do tempo. Cada post (sem ser o introdutório) deverá conter uma estrutura idêntica à seguinte:

About the Project / Sobre o Projecto

English:

Main aim:

With this Project we intend to promote the exchange of european landscapes/motives (through blog method – a photo and some text) by individuals who live in Europe and who are attending an educational facility, under the supervision/cooperation of their teachers.

Specific aims:
Promote the adequate use of digital photography equipment, which is becoming more and more common;
Join a youth’s pastime activity (taking photos) with:

• getting to know, observing and respecting nature;
• getting to know, virtually, various European landmarks;
• acknowledging cultural/religious values throughout Europe:
• using and improving different languages (mainly English);
• learning and using basic techniques of image capture and image editing;
• learning and using basic concepts of file nomination / organization using the computer;
• getting familiar with Web 2.0 services and tools (blogs, chats, etc);
• developing and being active in the Web 2.0 generation/mentality (participating, sharing and cooperating actively through Web 2.0 services and tools).

Objectivo Geral:
Pretende-se com este projecto efectuar a promoção da partilha de paisagens/motivos europeias/europeus (segundo a forma de fotografia comentada) entre indivíduos da Zona Europeia que se encontrem a frequentar instituições/estabelecimentos de ensino e com a orientação/colaboração dos seus respectivos educadores/professores.

Objectivos específicos:
Promover a boa utilização dos equipamentos de captura de imagem digital, que se têm vindo a tornar cada vez mais acessíveis/vulgares;
Conciliar uma prática de agrado dos jovens (prática de obtenção de fotografia), com:
• Conhecer, observar e respeitar a natureza;
• Conhecer virtualmente vários locais europeus;
• Conhecer valores culturais/regionais de vários locais europeus;
• Desenvolver e utilizar vários idiomas (essencialmente o inglês);
• Conhecer e utilizar técnicas básicas de captura e edição de imagem;
• Conhecer e utilizar conceitos básicos de nomeação/organização de ficheiros num computador;
• Conhecer serviços/ferramentas Web 2.0 (blogues, redes virtuais de comunicação, etc.);
• Desenvolver e participar na geração/mentalidade Web 2.0 (Partilhar, participar e cooperar activamente através dos serviços/ferramentas Web 2.0).
